Wake Up Call to Free Press

The Administrations rants tell us less of what they think about Fox News and more about how they view the other major news networks.

Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said, "It is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective." Meaning a different perspective from theirs.

Just as there is a wall of separation between Church and State, there is supposed to be a wall of separation between the Press and State. The Obama administration, and by extension the democrat party, doesn't believe in that wall. It shouldn't be a surprise when you factor in how many members of the administration have shown an affinity for the communist form of governing. One that views the press as property of and subject to the government.

The administration feels no need to complain about the rest of the press. Could it be that ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN have the same “perspective” as the administration? If so, then there is no need to watch such programming. We need to seek out a different perspective than that of our government. That's the whole idea behind a free press in the first place.

The fact that the administration is comfortable publicly issuing orders to the other networks that they “ought not to treat” Fox “like a news organization” should be a wake up that something is shamefully wrong.

Your Obama Remorse

No answers on the economy? No action on Guantanimo Bay or Iraq? Bailouts for the rich while the middle class pays the bill?

If you feel remorse over voting for Barack Obama, let us know why.

Obama was elected because he said he had the answers to the economic problems we face and yet our unemployment rate keeps going up! He said he would bring the troops home, but they will spend another Christmas away from their family and friends. But the worst has got to be giving millionairs our hard earned money so they can keep their multiple homes and cars and boats and planes.

The list continues to lengthen. Tell us your story.

Health Care Choice: Who Gets to Choose?

Now that the blitz is over, I'm sure we all can recite the key elements to the President's Health Care plan.

One that I find particularly interesting is his insistence that "If you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it." Of course he doesn't mean after his plan is implemented that my plan will stay exactly the same. That would hardly pass as reform. In a twist from Dragnet, "the names are the same, only the policy has been changed to protect the innocent."

I have noticed one group of people that will be guaranteed choice when it comes to Health Care plans. The illegal aliens. The democrats want to make sure that if they want to join a plan, they have that choice. But they can also opt out and keep doing what they've been doing. If we try that we'll get a fine or jail time.

In California the law protects illegal aliens who seek medical treatment from a doctor or hospital from being reported to the INS. And the doctors are required to treat their unnamed patients. I think if I lived in Nevada and needed medical treatment, I'd leave my wallet at home and cross the border into California for some of that "free" medicine. Maybe the federal government could save some money by offering free flights into the Golden state for those who need to see the doctor.

My real hope is that after all the demagoguery our representitives will tweak the system a bit to correct the problems that do exist. Lay down a set of reasonable rules and let the insurance agencies decide if they want to operate under those regulations. Then let us shop around to find a plan that meets our needs. I think the medical savings accounts with catastrophic care are a good start. The government might set up an assistance plan for those who have illnesses that create an enormous burden of medical bills.

Let's just hope this keeps them busy for a while.
